Honors and Awards 

J & E Teas - EMS Merit Scholarship

(Fall 2024) A Merit Scholarship is awarded by the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences to undergraduate students based on academic achievement.

College of Earth and Mineral Sciences Academy for Global Experience (EMSAGE) - Laureate 

(Spring 2024) The EMSAGE Laureate status is awarded to students who have fulfilled the requirements for the highest tier of the EMSAGE program. Students who achieve this status have made notable contributions in scholarship, experiential learning and global literacy, and service.

Catherine Lyons Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Undergraduate Student Award

(Spring 2024) This award, presented by the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, recognizes an undergraduate student who has demonstrated leadership in advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Junior Ellen Steidle Achievement Award

(Spring 2024)This award, presented by the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, is given to a junior student in good academic standing in recognition of their service to the college.

Sophomore Submission Award

(Spring 2023) This award, presented by the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, is given to a sophomore student who submits and presents an exemplary poster at the college-wide poster session and competition.

Erickson Fund in Geography

(Spring 2023) This Academic Achievement Award from the Penn State Geography Department was given in support of my in-person poster presentation at the AAG Annual Meeting in Denver, CO.

Penn State Dean's List

This distinction is awarded to students who complete a semester with a GPA of 3.50 or higher. I received this distinction in Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Fall 2024.

Bunton-Waller Undergraduate Fellowship

(Spring 2021) A Four-Year Full Tuition Fellowship from Penn State. More information about the program can be found on

Penn State's website.

Professional Organizations

American Association of Geographers

The American Association of Geographers is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the understanding, study, and importance of geography and related fields.

Gamma Theta Upsilon -
(Alpha Tau Chapter)

Gamma Theta Upsilon is the international honor society for geography. To join, members must have completed the equivalent of three semesters of college coursework, taken at least three geography courses with a minimum GPA of 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale), and ranked in the top 35% of their class. Alpha Tau is the official chapter at Penn State.

Certificates

Climate and Environmental Change

AnUndergraduate Certificate, offered by Penn State, is awarded to students who complete at least 12 credits in courses related to the spatial patterns and physical processes of climate change and variability.

Geographic Information Science

An Undergraduate Certificate, offered by Penn State, is awarded to students who complete at least 12 credits in courses related to geographical representation and geospatial analysis.

Facilitating Small Group Conflict and Collaboration 

An Undergraduate Certificate offered by Penn State for students who completed at least 5 courses related to the World in Conversations Program.

​Fundamentals of Visualization with Tableau

A Certificate of Completion for a data visualization course offered by Coursera, teaching participants how to visualize data using the program Tableau.

R Essential Training: Wrangling and Visualizing Data

A Certificate of Completion for a LinkedIn Learning course that covered the essential skills of learning and using the R programming language, with a focus on data visualization and data wrangling.

Python Essential Training

A Certificate of Completion for a LinkedIn Learning course that taught the basic and essential skills of learning and using the Python programming language.

Social and Behavioral Human Subjects Research (IRB) Course

A Certificate of Completion for course required by Institutional Review Board (IRB) members who review social-behavioral-educational research. This course provides an overview of members' responsibilities and expectations according to IRB guidelines.
